The past two months have been full in the best way. I wrapped up a meaningful commission and recorded four podcast conversations—each one leaving me inspired, humbled, and deeply connected to the shared experience of being a creative.

One theme echoed through every podcast: every creative journey includes challenges. No matter the medium or level of success, obstacles are part of the path. Hearing artists speak honestly about doubt, loss, time constraints, and perseverance reminded me that struggle is not a sign of failure—it’s a sign that we’re showing up.

For me, that reality is shaped by caregiving. Walking alongside my husband as he lives with Alzheimer’s and other issues has changed nearly every rhythm of daily life. It is heartbreaking, exhausting, and unpredictable. And yet, it has also clarified something essential: creating is not optional—it’s sustaining.

What I noticed in each podcast guest is what I try to practice myself: they carve out time to create anyway. Sometimes it’s a lot of time, sometimes it’s just a small pocket in the day—but it’s protected time. Sacred time. Time where the soul can breathe.

Art doesn’t remove the challenges we face, but it gives us a place to put what we’re carrying. It reminds us who we are beyond our circumstances. Finishing this recent commission and sharing these conversations feels like a quiet affirmation that even in the midst of difficulty, creativity continues to be a lifeline.

If you’re walking through a hard season and wondering how to keep going, know this: you’re not alone. Keep carving out that space. Keep making. It matters more than you know.

I wish you all peace and joy this season and always.

With Love,
