I started this song in March during the first lockdown, and just didn’t get back to it until today. Guess it took me 8 months to come to some sort of peace about the state of the world.
It’s inspired by the Loving Kindness meditation where you first wish yourself well, happy, and peaceful. Next, you wish someone neutral the same. Followed by good wishes for a loved one. Next, you send good wishes for someone you have challenges with, and finally, you send them to your city, state, country, world, and all beings. It’s a favorite meditation of mine, and I thought it would be great during this difficult time on this planet.
May you be well, may you be happy, may you find peace.
Wishes
Empty isles
Missing smiles
Ghost town looking streets
‘Cept big brown trucks
Folks out of luck
And the guy from Uber Eats
I have no words
But I have wishes
I wish you well
I wish you happy
I wish you peace
Clinical trials
Masked smiles
Heroes on the beat
Haven’t slept
Haven’t wept
So that we can have relief
And I have few words
But I have wishes
May you be well
May you be happy
May you find peace
The world is on lockdown
And we all need relief
I don’t have a cure
May my loving kindness be a reprieve
I have no words
But I have wishes
I wish you well
I wish you happy
I wish you peace
