Today we are going to talk about getting wild with color!

Come on, we all have friends that take us places we might not go. How about doing the same with your paint pigments? Recently I chose some wild and bold neon acrylic paint,  and using the same reference photo, created a series of colorful abstract landscapes.

The scene is from my old neighborhood Blue Heron Lake in Yosemite Lakes Park.

Using  the same reference photo really helped me focus on the color and I had the added benefit of becoming really familiar with the subject.

I varied the composition slightly to keep things interesting and also used two different sized canvas panels. It was fun to see all the places the paint took me.

Go ahead, give it a shot. I can’t wait to see what you create.

Thanks for watching!
